I was afraid to try the Easyboot Trails because they look like Old Macs, but maybe they if they are the same material as they Easyboots they are fine. I think the Epics are the same or similar shape, but because they have the cable tightening system you can get them locked on pretty good even if the shape isn't perfect. I thought the Easyboot Bares were a bear to get on and off.Īnd I tried the "fit kit" with the Gloves and they didn't seem to match my Mustang's hoof shape so I didn't order the gloves. I found Old Macs rather cumbersome and the soles started to crack after just a few rides in the rocks so I sent them back.

I have to repair gaiters and cables once in a while, but the boot material itself is almost indestructable.

Maybe get one set and see how well you like them before you get a second set of the same boots. That's months away though, but it is something I want to consider while deciding on the boots. At the moment we're grounded until I get some hooves worked on so our mileage right now is 0, but I would expect our peak to be maybe 15 to 20 miles a week.with a rare 25 - 30 mile week if we go camping or something. I've also considered the Easyboot Gloves, but until I learn how to trim the kiddos myself I don't think those will work so well for us. So.what are your opinions on these boots? I know the Easyboot Trails are new. The boss man has already agreed to these leaning slightly more to the need side of the need/want scale and has consented to 4 boots for each horse (although most riding will probably done with just the front feet booted he did recognise that for the back feet it's better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them).
